Prime cost of electricity in Kyrgyzstan amounts to 1.62 soms in 2016

In 2016, the prime cost of electricity in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 1.62 soms for kilowatt-hour. Taalaybek Nurbashev, director of the State Agency for Regulation of Fuel and Energy Complex, said this at a meeting of the parliamentary Committee for Fuel, Energy Complex and Subsoil Use.

According to him, for the past three years, the highest prime cost was in 2015 — 1.98 soms for kilowatt. In 2014, it was 1.43 soms.

As the head of the state agency explained, this is connected with the import of electricity from Kazakhstan and a relatively high cost of repairs.

In 2016, Kyrgyzstan produced 12, 605 million kilowatt-hours, including Bishkek Heating and Power Plant — 1, 374 billion, the head of Electric Stations OJSC Taalaybek Tolubaev said.
