Recruiter of international terrorist organization detained in Kyrgyzstan

An active org man of an international terrorist organization was detained in Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to it, an active member of international terrorist organization Jamaat al-Tawhid Wal-Jihad, citizen of Kyrgyzstan born in 1977, native and resident of Kara-Suu district was detained

on February 22 during the counterterrorist measures of the State Committee in Osh region.

In the framework of the investigated criminal case on the grounds of crimes under Articles 75 (mercenarism) and 299–1 (organized activities aimed at inciting national, racial, religious or inter-regional hostility) of the Criminal Code, it was found out that the man organized a stable channel for recruiting and transferring Kyrgyz citizens to the Syrian-Iraqi zone of the armed conflict for diversionary and terrorist training and participation in the military operations on the side of terrorist groups.

He was placed in the pretrial detention center of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic. The investigation is ongoing.
