Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will resume bus services. The heads of specialized agencies of the two countries discussed this issue in Astana within the framework of the meeting of Transport Ministers of Central Asia and China.
Azim Ibrohim and Absattar Syrgabaev discussed the resumption of interstate bus service on previously operating routes.
It is noted that they considered the possibility of launching regular bus services on the routes Khujand — Osh, Khujand — Batken and Isfara — Batken. They were suspended earlier.
The Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan also proposes to resume operation of Spitamen — Istiklol — Spitamen railroad section in Sughd region. This route could be used for the transit of Kyrgyz cargo.
Earlier, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov announced the resumption of air service between the two countries from March 14. According to him, flights are planned on the routes Dushanbe — Bishkek and Bishkek — Khujand.
