Days of Culture of Azerbaijan held in Kyrgyzstan

The Days of Culture of Azerbaijan, which are being held in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, began with the opening of a traditional exhibition of handicrafts on April 21 at the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev.

The exposition «National Heritage Living in the Pearls of Azerbaijani Art» was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The opening was attended by masters of art, literary and cultural figures, creative groups, writers and media representatives from Azerbaijan, as well as employees of the ministries of the two countries, ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic missions and numerous guests.

The exhibition featured 13 carpets from different regions of Azerbaijan, old and new photographs of Karabakh, antique kitchenware, clothing with traditional decorative motifs, colored glass products, and samples of traditional patchwork knitting.

The event included a fashion show of the young fashion designer Zumrut Mirzaliyeva’s collection, «created as a result of an artistic dialogue between the past and the present.»

The first day of events ended with a gala concert with the participation of Azerbaijani artists. The concert featured classical works of the Kyrgyz people accompanied by Azerbaijani national instruments.

The Days of Culture of Azerbaijan will continue with various events until April 24.

Thus, a master class by the Director of the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater, Jeyhun Dadashov, will be held at the State National Russian Drama Theater named after Ch. Aitmatov on April 23 at 4 p.m.
