Ex-organized crime group member detained on suspicion of pickpocketing

Police detained a suspect in pickpocketing committed on public transport. The press service of the Main Internal Affairs Department of Chui region reported.

On March 31, the Department of Internal Affairs of Sokuluk district received a report of the theft of an iPhone 14 in a minibus No. 302. A case was opened under the article «Theft» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Another citizen filed a similar report. According to him, his iPhone 15 Pro Max was also stolen in a minibus.

The suspect was identified during the «Cattle Thief» raid. He turned out to be 32-year-old R.A., previously convicted multiple times and previously registered as a member of an organized crime group. He was placed in a temporary detention facility. Law enforcement officers are establishing his involvement in other similar crimes.
