It is planned to build a 600 megawatt power plant operating on gas at the expense of support from the Russian side. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov said at the opening of international multi-sectoral business mission of Russian companies to Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, the Kyrgyz Republic has already begun construction of the largest hydropower plant Kambarata-1. Preparatory work will take 1.5-2 years. Without waiting for that, the republic can increase its energy potential. In particular, construction of two solar stations for 500 and 1,000 megawatts will be launched.
«I will have a final working meeting on the project for construction of the gas-fired power plant on June 17 in St. Petersburg. We will discuss all the details with our investors there,» Akylbek Japarov said.
