Man in Istanbul injures Kyrgyz woman for refusing to marry him

A man cut a Kyrgyz woman’s neck and face for refusing to marry him. Hurriyet media outlet reports.

It is noted that the incident occurred at one of the hotels. Police found a 28-year-old Kyrgyz woman in a hotel room with cut neck and face. A 40-year-old man named Kadir, who was accompanying her, said she tried to commit suicide.

«She accused me of unfaithfulness. We had a conflict because of that. Then she went to the shower, broke a beer bottle and started cutting herself, trying to commit suicide... I immediately went after her and tried to save her. She ran away from me, screaming that she hated me,» the man told during the interrogation.

The Kyrgyz woman denied this testimony. According to her, she had known Kadir for more than three months. He asked her to marry him, but she did not agree. He took away her passport. That day they had another conflict and the man tried to kill her.

A criminal case was opened against the suspect under the article «Intentional attempted murder» of the Criminal Code of the Turkish Republic. He was arrested. Later, the detainee was released on his own recognizance and was prohibited from approaching the Kyrgyzstani at a certain distance.
